Alessandro Del Piero and Sergio Ramos discuss new AC Milan team
Alessandro del Piero has revealed that the Italian striker’s long-term future is in his hands at AC Milan and it was a surprise when the Italian international was offered a new contract last summer.
The Italian international, who has been at the San Siro for almost a decade, has had a fine season, netting 20 goals in 33 appearances, and is now set to join up with Milan next season.
Del Piero said: “I didn’t know that Milan were interested in me.
I have been asked to stay a few months and I’m grateful.
It’s a dream come true for me and a big honour for Milan.”
There are other big decisions to be made at Milan as the Rossoneri face the prospect of losing both Gennaro Gattuso and Giuseppe Rossi in the transfer market.
The Italian giants will face competition from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United in the race to sign the former Juventus and Italy international.
